2014 Wine and Food Festival at the Bellamy: 

Wilmington’s Wine and Food Festival returns May 2 to 4, with more food, more wine and more fun.  It’s all at the Bellamy Mansion.  The Wilmington Wine & Food Festival brings together top area chefs with notable wines and wine makers from around the world to celebrate and advance public appreciation for great wine and food. The festival provides a diverse range of interactive epicurean experiences while showcasing the area’s unique and rich culture and history.  Friday kicks off with Trey Herring’s Bourbon & BBQ Derby Cocktail Party.  Saturday features a grand wine tasting with the Corks and Fords Grand Tasting and Sunday wraps up with a Bubbles, Brews & Street Eats.  You can order tickets for each event or for all events at www.WilmingtonWineandFood.com  or stop by the Wilmington Wine on Castle Street, Divine Wines, Fermental, Fortunate Glass, Seasoned Gourmet, Wilmington Homebrew or The Wine Rack.  More such fun events at Fun.EnjoyWilmington.com

2014 Encore  Restaurant Week

This annual showcase of Wilmington’s many great restaurants returns this March 19 to 26. Encore Restaurant Week gives local food aficionados and visitors an opportunity to enjoy prix fixe breakfasts, lunches and/or dinners, as well as desserts, at participating eateries throughout the Port City (tax and gratuity not included). It is a great benefit for both diners and the restaurant community, giving our local economy a boost and area foodies a chance to experience what our culinary scene offers. Wine and Dinner Pairing kicks off Wine & Food Fetival

This year’s Wine and Food Festival set for next spring kicks off with an “Exquisite Wine Pairing Dinner” at Wilmington’s RX restaurant.  Featuring four California wines made by three iconic winemakers, RX Chef
James Doss and his team of talented chefs will pair unique and delicious courses to match each selection. The wines will include Arietta On The White Keys and Arietta Quartet (both made by Screaming Eagle winemaker Andy
Erickson), DeSante Old Vine Sauvignon Blanc (made by namesake winemaker David DeSante, who also makes wines for Napa Valley’s Jaffe Estate), and Vineyard 7&8 “7” Cabernet Sauvignon (made by prolific winemaker Luc Morlet).  It’s 7 pm, September 17.  Tickets are $75 each and available through RX at 910.399.3080

Oktoberfest 2013 at Front Street Brewery (September 28, 2013)

The 180th Anniversary of the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, will KICK OFF Saturday, September 28th with the tapping of Oktoberfest seasonal lager at Front Street Brewery in Historic Downtown Wilmington, NC. On Saturday
at 11am, Brewmaster Kevin Kozak will tap FSB’s Oktoberfest Lager and drink from “Das Boot”, officially beginning Front Street Brewery’s celebration of this historic cultural event.

At 7pm, the REAL fun gets started with fun contests, great music, and GREAT beer! The Oktoberfest Chive Unofficial Meetup begins in The Beam Room with a Big Pretzel Toss, Stein Holding Competition, Safe Slam Drinking Competition and THE OKTOBERFEST COSTUME CONTEST. Prizes include Front Street Brewery merchandise and beer, Chive Gear and cold, hard CASH! $5 Entry Fees for each contest and net proceeds from Oktoberfest will be donated to The Chive Charities, a non-profit organization that does BIG fundraising for smaller fundraising initiatives. Wine and Food Festival returns for the 2nd year! (May 2-4, 2014)

“We learned a lot from the first event,” Chrissy Absi Bonney, Bacchus’ Brood President and owner of Wilmington Wine, said. “This next Festival is going to have even more food and wine, along with a few other events, to really showcase what makes this such a great foodie community.”
